Free Download: Haunting Blue Fairy Muses

I finally finished this track! I kept putting it off!

I originally created the original melody when I was 6 years old, back in New Jersey in the 1980s on my neighbor's piano.

I've told this story many times, so the short version is that in the summer after moving into our new house in Mount Laurel on Fostertown Rd. our neighbor's named Mr. & Mrs. Blue has their annual summer barbecue picnic and invited us.

At some point I remember everyone being inside the house, so I think it might've rained, and I saw they had a piano. I felt this magnetic attraction of the piano sitting there and was allowed to play, yet other children were not. I knew nothing about how to play a piano but I started improvisationally playing. I had no idea I could do that, and in the process of playing that piano, I felt myself transported to another realm of fairies and magic, since I had a wild imagination as a child, and I even remembered seeing fairies when I was a toddler, until I stopped seeing them around the same age. During that time I came up with this melody, and my grandparents gave me an electric organ which I often played this melody over & over and reworked it into what it generally is now.

I usually just called it "The Fairy Melody" or "The Fairy World" because that day when I created it at my neighbors' house I felt like I was in another world, and also time stopped, and passed by me until it was night time.

I currently called it "The Blue Fairies Melody" but I have different versions with different lyrics I wrote last year for my "dragon film" ("Zenith Beyond Eclipsing The Dragon's Rue") .

This version actually came to me LAST YEAR (2016) around February/March between the times when we had the extreme snow and deep subfreezing cold we also had incredibly warm days.

I felt as tho' I was GOING CRAZY, literally, and it was very upsetting to me because I was supposed to start a new job PLUS start classes at UMASS in the Fall semester of 2016. But, I kept hearing all this music inside of my head, and it was DRIVING ME MAD. I was so scared for my very life that I was considering seeing a doctor, and the feelings I was having were so bad, and overwhelming!

So, in a desperate moment I through on my coat and I walked over to South Field (renamed Union Point by the fall) and I felt the music fighting me, and trying to force myself "to be sensible" until I finally gave up, and thought: What the heck! Fine! If I'm a crazy woman, then oh well! And, If I start singing and people think I'm a crazy woman, then so what if I am?!

The words just poured out of my throats and my mouth! It was frightening at first! But, when I finally stopped fighting it, and surrendered to it, all this MUSIC came out! After I let it all out, or just let it come out, I found so much better! I didn't feel depressed, or overwhelmed with bad feelings. This went on the entire Spring and Summer.

But, this ambient version actually came very strongly to me, and it often came out of me when I was walking through South Field alone, and wandering through the trees. I KNEW I wanted to make a recorded version of it, but I didn't have a microphone.

When I finally started my video class at UMASS I actually jumped at the chance to borrow a condenser mic, and recorded a lot of things.

I finally edited this version this winter starting in December last year (2016).

It's pretty much EXACTLY what I wanted it to be.

My 2016 Film From UMASS

I'd blogged about this on my other art blog(s), but I should mention it here because my Film is VERY VERY Bohemian.

My Film is called "Smattering Thoughts Also Flow" and it has a lot of Boho motifs and is HEAVY on Taoism themes as well as philosophy, and a touch of Buddhism or Confucianism motifs. It's got some whimsical and rave elements as well.

Unfortunately I was strapped for time & resources, so much was cut out, or scrapped.

I switched my major from Philosophy to Art due to strong suggestions by my Video Instructor.
I still love philosophy tho'.

I EXCLUSIVELY  shot the film using over 5 different cameras ALL BY CANON. CANON is my #1 FAVORITE! I also used various other lens fliters.

Blog Feature + New Instagram Photography Profile

It's no secret that I have an affinity for art, including photography. Well, photography was on my mind last night, and I was observing fellow photographers demo their modes operandi on how they do their XYZ... (The jab is due to the fact that SO MANY "pro" pedigree photographers can be SUCH SNOBS to ametures & "avid photographers" i.e. those with degrees and those without)   I was somewhat surprized how much some popular folks are such hacks, but I still love their work. ;)

I was going back n forth between YouTube, Snapchat, and twitter, when it suddenly occurred to me: Oh, maybe I ought to create a new Instagram profile specifically JUST to showcase my photography... I mean, I DO put in untold hours worth of work, prep, travel, equipment, etc... SO, what the hey! Why not? I mean, i already got multiple blogs, and other media profiles, so why not?

Here's the New Instagram Photography Profile: KLICK HERE

Well, sometime after midnight, I threw together a new photography profile....
Next thing I knew, my iPhone was going crazy. Last night I barely even had 30 photos published, and I couldn't turn off the notifications!

So, since my spouse & I had to take the kid to the hospital all the way in Boston for an overdue appointment, I was like: Well, since I've already started posting photos, what's a few more?

What's a few more?
Well, it's CRAZY!

Instagram changed their notification settings, so I finally figured out how to turn the whole thing OFF!

Now I have companies inviting me into affiliate programs & offers, so I have contracts to read through.

Blogging Fusion Blog Directory Blog of the day
I also woke up this morning to an E-mail congratulating me on winning a FEATURE on a Blog Directory HERE & HERE.

Boho Light Journal Video Project w Poetry

Here's my video project for my Video Workshop at UMASS.

This video project was a lot of work. I shot more than 500+ video clips, then I had to do hours of trouble shooting for audio, and hours of audio recording, and even lost my voice.

All of the music, poetry, cinematography, production, editing, arrangements, etc. was entirely performed by Me, Myself, and I.

DIY Summer Spring Rolls 2016

Summer Salad Spring Rolls
I've frequently made spring rolls this summer, but when the heat finally hit here in mid July, I just couldn't bear to cook, so we started to make those south Asian style like in Vietnamese or Siamese or Thai restaurants.

I even made my own peanut sauces sometimes, or ate them with salad dressing like vinaigrette.

I've stuffed them with anything from lettuce, to green, to bean sprouts, to avocado, guacamole, tomatoes, tomotilloes, onion, scallions, bell peppers, pickles, cucumbers, carrots, and pickled beats.

DIY Willow Boho Chic Decor Wreath Dreamcatcher

DIY Willow Boho Chic Decor Wreath Dreamcatcher

I saw these willow wreathes at the dollar store a few weeks ago, so I got one!

I already made a dreamcatcher from scratch from grapevines last month, so I wanted to try one of these and do something similar.

It's made with a number of items from my old store I used to have, especially Buddhist mala beads and jade from China, and the medallion, which was a popular one we sold back then.

This project actually came together rather fast, compared to my other dreamcatcher I made. However, it still took several hours worth of prep and hand work.

WIP DIY Boho Chic Eclectic Art Project Antique Teapot II

WIP DIY Boho Chic Eclectic Art Project Antique Teapot II

The first part of this project is found HERE

I finally got to start moving forward to work on this project, and I gotta tell ya, I was REALLY feeling this one, and the muses, but the pesky set-backs were driving me MAD! So frustrating! I originally wanted to finish this project in 2014, which I mentioned in my previous blog post about this.

So, I needed to start drilling the hole into the teapot to make it into a lamp, kind like this:

First I got a marker and tried to eye-ball the dots I wanted to drill, but they just weren't to my liking, and since drilling them is permanent, I wanted them to be as symmetrical and geometrically close to perfect as possible even tho' the teapot is gashed, dented, and weathered.

So, I got some masking tape and started over, then got the electric power drill, and started drilling it. Unfortunately, I don;t have a machine shop, nor a vice, so I have to hunch over it, and sprawl onto to floor just to work on it, so my time working on it is limited, because it hurts my back.

So, I have to limit how long I work on it. But, I also hurt my back at the gym on an abbs machine this month, and now I'm going to physical therapy to fix my spine and muscles which are connected through my abdominal muscles.  I also ran out of chiropractic visits on my medical insurance and have to wait until January 2017 to go back.

I hope I can continue working on it by September or October.

Well, that's it for now... I have to recover from my spinal injuries.

You might notice there's different sizes of holes in the pot.

Cha Dao -- Gungfu Cha

Cha Dao (The Tao of Tea or The Way of Tea) AKA Gunfu Cha, AKA Tea Culture

If you look up Cha Dao or tea Culture you will find many many kinds of this cultural art that's even to a science from China. It's very ancient, and even has Zen styles (called "chan" in Chinese).

My brother-in-law came to visit in May/June this year, and our family in China asked us if there were anything/ any things we wanted. We always want tea stuff. But, this year, we wanted the real high quality Cha Dao AKA Gungfu Cha stuff. there's many many styles of this, which range town to town, city to city, province to province, and many different age groups even preform this differently, or social status people. My brother-in-law, Mr. Zhang (Zhang Weifu), was something of a connoisseur in this art. However, many tea masters have their own ideologies and styles. He had his style and he was teaching me his way.

We specifically asked our family for the style of this tea culture that is the tray table style. This was very important to us, because we didn't want to pour everything outside, but inside, and without the tray table kind, a regular tray will easily fill up with water because you're supposed to "xi-xi cha" (wash the tea) in a ritualized protocol.

We also got another Gungfu Cha set, but this was the one we're using.

We did the majority of this stuff in May-June while the weather was actually very cold here this year even in early July, until mid July when we got struck with a heat wave that is only now starting to dissipate slightly.

A common thread among Gypsets is the openness to many kinds of cultural and worldly cultures, and items, as well as different time periods. Gypsets are actually NOT all white women, which is bunk. Anyone can be a Gypset, usually its women, but I see no problem with calling a man this if he so wishes. Many Gypsets are ethnic mixed themselves (like myself).

So, some of my photos here are a bit artistic.
