Windy Autumn Bohemian 001

I like photography, and many other things. So once I got my new digital SLR since I'd been using my CANON POWER SHOT, which I actually REALLY STILL LIKE, I wanted more practice. Digital SLR is different than analog SLR. So, it took a lot of getting accustomed to it. I'd mostly been shooting landscapes, and I found it strange that when I added self portraits to Facebook I got all these likes and compliments... so, I decided to try other things. and this is what happened (circa Autumn 2011 New England).

I had actually lost virtually ALL of my makeup after I did a wedding photoshoot in Philadelphia.
So, I shot all of this with whatever I still had left... just winging it....

It was very windy, so you can often see my camera strap in the frame.
This style of photography is called "Spontaneous Self Portraits" and at close proximity to the face it can exaggerate or refract the shape of the facial features, which is what I like about it.
I have a very strong mixture of ethnic features like my prominent Anglo Saxon nose structure, my jawline, browns and cheekbone structure.
It's always interesting to see how my face looks through the lens because when I look in the mirror I feel I look quite different.

The blue scarf was a gift from my friend from China (from when I lived in China). She bought it at "The Friendship Store" which most people weren't usually allowed to shop at if you are not a foreigner in China. So, of course, this product is of a very good quality because it's meant for foreigners, and not Chinese Nationals. That's Chinese politics for you... it makes sense to them, but I don't understand it.

Anyway, I helped my friend to come to the USA on scholarship because it was actually much easier for graduate students than going to Canada. Now, she lives in the Carolinas and has a nice medical career.

The earrings I'm wearing I got at Charlotte Russe. (I am double pierced.) And, the old jacket is from H&M. I wore it out... and, I wish I still had it.

More Bohemian Stuff Heading This Way!

Well, I suppose I ought to start this blog somewhere... actually, I kind of already did...

Anyways, I have some of my vintage Prom looks and also looks I wore to some weddings, just in case you were looking for some ideas from a truely artsy, Free Spirit, Gen'X'er like me.

I'm an artist, scientist, geek, and I'm an aspiring philosopher. I LOVE outer space, Sci-Fi, fantasy, rave/ravers, all kinds of arts, and all kinds of music, and a long resume, with practically nothing to show for it.

I love yoga, meditation, taiji chuan, qigong, Star Trek, nature, plants, animals, food, fine wines & aged cheddar, ethnic & international cuisines, various kinds of spices (not necessarily hot peppers or chillies tho'), and I've lived in The People's Republic of China several times. I speak conversational Mandarin Chinese, and also understand Pekingese (Beijing dialect). I also speak German, tho' I think it's not so good anymore... I'm not exactly fluent in these languages, but I still use & enjoy them, and have a vast collection of music, cultural items, and movies from these countries.

Like all typical Gypsetters I've traveled the world, and have been to over half of the states of the USA. I have also been to The Grand Bahamas Island.

I have lived in Hollywood on La Brea Avenue, and also worked at "Top Cow" of "Image Comics" on "Witchblade".(Not gonna start name dropping, but I could.)

I also worked on animation projects for: HBO Family, NOGIN, PBS, Nick Jr. And, I have a degree in Computer Animation.

I have a diploma in Environmental Sciences, and I take the sciences VERY SERIOUSLY.

I hope to share much of my photography, or strait up photo snap-shots, from my world travels.

I am also a MOM, and have 1 daughter.

I love dance, and have studied bellydance since 2007, Tribal Fusion, ATS, Raqs Sharqi, Folkloric, and also Popping & Locking, Hitting & holding, Jumpstyle, and probably a mixture of other things I can't think of at the moment.

I'm a former "Spiritual Junkie" New Ager... I still like some things from those circles, but since I am an activist I cannot be associated with nonsense, or crazy folks that think the voices in their heads are God talking to them, and want your money. I do like crystals, and have several, and have in facts meditated with them, but I could just as well meditate on anything, it doesn't matter... and I don't give my stones names, and cry over them. Actually, I think studying the scientific properties of quarts, or tourmaline is more interesting, and leave the woo-woo crazy talk to mainstream religions.

I used to be a Protestant when I was younger, and was rather religious. I've also ACTUALLY read the scriptures, and philosophically disagree with them. I do however believe in souls, and that i have one, and have many many paranormal experiences that include other witnesses, however I will NOT be disclosing any of that on this blog as it bothers my political credibility as an activist.

Chinese New Year is coming up soon, so I am hoping to share some stuff from my several travels, and living experiences of my times spent living in China. I am also planning to shoot some new stuff with that theme for my Pyrate Wench blog soon.

I also MAKE LOTS OF THINGS, or FIX THEM. I'm very creative, but also a tinkerer, and I love technology.

If you are interested in my Photography Blog you can find it HERE. I like to shoot using CANON, but I have used many kinds of cameras, and I also love video.

I also have a Blog for my Cosplay Pirate Wench Character Marshall Kändiß The Pyrate

VICTORY: I'm Back AND MONETIZED!

Well, well, well..... Today is seriously my lucky day! And, in fact, despite the screwy things that have occurred this month, I think I'm seriously coming out smelling like chocolate covered edible roses!

At the start of this month, sometime around the 2nd week, my Instagram started blowing up! Like: Whoah! I'd been posting and sharing the same stuff I'd been posting before.... but, out of nowhere, I started getting more likes... then, it became full on conversations, and interactions with people. Mind you, most folks on Instagram tend to be younger than I am. As hopeless as much of the trends, in many of my situations were going, not just "the news", I just felt like I needed an "out", an escape, an outlet... something. ANYTHING! And, since I was getting so much attention and interaction, despite Instagram glitching, I just went with the flow of it...

-and, I was sharing quite a bit of my Bohemian/Boho-chic stuff... and I have QUITE A LOT OF IT. I also found out I was a Gypset or Gypsetter, my whole life, and didn't even know it...

So, after interacting with some many other Bohemians, New Agers, Boho-stylers, Mori Girls, and loads of Gypsetters, and getting positive feed-back, I started to contemplate making Boho/Gypset blog... and after since whenever I mentioned it, and people agreed with the idea, that's how this blog started...

Well, when I first started my blog, recently since about last year Google/Adsense made this policy about how you couldn't generate any revenue on ads until about a 6 month period. They did this to me before with my music blog last year... and, I wasn't happy about it at all.

So, I blogged about it... also, I typed up several blog entries, and scheduled them to be on hold until I could get the revenue green light in half a year from now....since that took the wind out of my sails, I went onto my most popular blog, my Pirate Wench Cosplay blog... and, it dawned on me that I could expand my monetizational prospects.... so, I hunkered down, and went to work! My first attempt just got put on hold... but, it still BURNED PASSIONATELY inside of me. And, I let my fingers do the walking, and kept going until I found my way to all kinds of affiliate prospects!

Then, OMG! I realized JUST HOW MUCH Google/Adsense had been jipping me!!!!

If I went direct to the affiliates & sponsors, I eliminated the middle man (Google) and started rebuilding and reprogramming my Pirate blog, then I took it over here to THIS BLOG...

And, lo & behold, Google just RANDOMLY approves me to Google Adsense!

Oh, I guess u guys wanted a chunk o' this after all, huh?

Well, guess what!

I am BACK! And, I am MONETIZED!

And, like Hammer:
I am gonna Turn This Mutha Out!
